In the supplier code of conduct at Joseph Johnson, our expectations for suppliers and the minimum requirements to be adhered to by individual facilities are clearly outlined and defined. They are to ensure that all our suppliers adhere to socially responsible business practices and that all products manufactured for Joseph Johnson are produced under lawful, dignified, and ethical conditions. Participating companies must voluntarily comply with and strictly adhere to these standards. Otherwise, they risk revocation of certification for their production facilities and those of their suppliers.

All individuals involved in the production and manufacture of goods or materials for Joseph Johnson are subject to these standards and must adhere to the guidelines under all circumstances.

1. Child Labor - No employees under 16 years of age or those subject to compulsory schooling that conflicts with working hours, or who have not reached the legally defined minimum age, shall be employed. The higher age takes precedence in this context.

2. Forced Labor - No forced or involuntary labor such as bonded labor, compulsory labor, or any other form thereof shall be used.

3. Health and Safety - Ensuring a safe and healthy working environment is essential. Where accommodations are provided to employees, it is the responsibility of the suppliers to ensure the safety and health of the accommodations.

4. Freedom of Association - Employees' legal right to freedom of association must be respected and upheld. This includes the decision to join or refrain from joining an association.

5. Discrimination - Promoting or supporting inequality in hiring, remuneration, access to training, promotion, termination, or retirement based on race, caste, national origin, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, union membership, political affiliation, or age is unacceptable. Sexually harassing, threatening, offensive, or exploitative behavior shall not be tolerated. This applies to gestures, language, and physical contact.

6. Disciplinary Practices - The company shall not engage in or advocate for physical punishment, mental or physical coercion, or verbal abuse.

7. Working Hours - The legal requirements for daily and weekly working hours in the countries where the items are manufactured must be adhered to. Suppliers must grant their employees at least one day off within a period of seven days, unless urgent operational requirements necessitate additional working hours.

8. Wages - Weekly wages must at least meet legal or industry-standard minimum standards and always be sufficient to cover the employee's basic needs and have a portion for discretionary expenses. Wage deductions for disciplinary reasons are not permitted.

9. Management Systems - The company must adopt structures and processes to ensure that compliance with our standards is continuously monitored.
